Ways To Help

Donate Blood And Platelets

Most people don’t know the importance of blood product donations. We didn’t until Phil was diagnosed. Phil received many blood and platelet transfusions during his fight. These donations gave Phil’s body what it needed when he couldn’t, and they gave us more invaluable time to be with Phil. Please consider making not only blood donations a regular commitment, but platelet donations too.

Donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Dare to Dream Project

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Dare To Dream Project is powering innovative research, new safer treatments, support services, and advocacy just for kids.

LLS is seeking to raise $175 million over a five-year period to support global, collaborative research and treatments for children's blood cancers.  They have implemented the PedAL Master Clinical Trial, and have improved free education, 1:1 support services, financial assistance, and advocacy on behalf of all children and their families. We dare to dream of a world without childhood cancer.

Volunteer or donate to your local children’s hospital

Phil enjoyed many moments playing and laughing with volunteers. They provided a breath of fresh air for us, and a change of pace for Phil when he was stuck at the hospital. Phil was young when he was forced to endure needle pokes, sedated procedures, endless medications, and lots of medical trauma. The prizes he was given after his “jobs” helped motivate him and simply made him happy after such long days. Most, if not all, of these prizes were donations to the hospital. They are necessary in the hospital for so many reasons and help get these kids through the most difficult of days.
